14 900-0231. The fall luncheon at Shady Maple Restaurant in East Earl, Pa., on Tuesday, Oct. 13, was attended by Ager, Bowes, Brown, and McCormick. Present were others from classes of our time at WTS. President Rounds spoke on his vision for the school and changes he has implemented to engage students on campus. He informed us of a substantial anonymous donation for the construction of an additional cottage to be located in an area adjacent to Longstreth cottage. The new cottage will be named the “Watson Cottage” in honor of Wayne Watson, a graduate and current chairman of the trustees. The Watson Cottage will have a stone exterior to the specifications of the other campus Furness buildings. When completed, the Watson cottage will enable vacating an existing cottage for extensive renovations to be performed by the students, providing them work experience in their trades. Each of the remaining cottages will be vacated, one at a time, in the same manner until all of the cottages have been completely renovated. The increase in housing capacity will enable expansion of the student body, part of the vision President Rounds foresees for the future. No time frame for completion of this work was indicated. Also mentioned, the annual enrollment for the freshman class will remain at 100 students for the foreseeable future, although expansion of the student body and campus facilities is envisioned for the long term. 5W4 Class Rep Ron Richardson announced the date for the spring luncheon on campus as April 12, 2016. Mark your calendar and plan to attend. You will receive additional information from our Luncheon Committee chairman Jack and his staff — Jim Bowes. We hope to see you in April.
