I hope you all had a restful holiday and are ready for some great summer events here in New Brighton . I Love New Brighton on Waitangi day Feb 6th is always a fun day with lots of free activities for the kids , live music , yummy food and market stalls . On February 11th The Speight ' s Coast to Coast finishes in New Brighton , and the Seaside Market has its annual Love Market with a line up of local musicians led by Lynette Diaz . Coming up in March we have the annual Duke Festival of Surfing , a week long celebration packed with fun activities for all ages . You are probably all aware of continuing road works in the area . These can be disruptive with detours and noise levels , especially for those living on the streets being worked on at night . Try and stay patient , the end result will be smoother , safer roads for us all . If you have any concerns especially around safety make sure you report them quickly .
