Page 14 October 2013 Pink Ball in Pictures By Penny Kirk How does one describe a community event like the Charbonneau Pink Ball Tournament? A sea of pink? Yes. One hundred seventy golfers - men, women, couples, most in pink - assembled the morning of August 10 with big smiles, obviously ready to enjoy themselves. Touching? Yes. How can one read the 89 Tee Box Signs celebrating family and loved ones and not feel their impact. Generous? Absolutely! Our Charbonneau community opened their hearts and check books; and, together with our eleven corporate and seven oral auction sponsors, raised over $18,000 dollars for The American Cancer Society, more than twice what we raised last year, and donations continue to come in. But, for me, the word that most easily comes to mind when I remember this year's Pink Ball Tournament is - thankful. I am so thankful to be living in Charbonneau, where the big hearts and generosity of our friends and neighbors make a very special event like the Pink Ball Tournament possible and where we all join together for a common cause and then celebrate an amazing community achievement. www.charbonneaucountryclub.com The Charbonneau Villager
