LPGA-USGA Girls Golf provides over 20,000 girls, ages 7-17,
with the opportunity to learn golf,
create friendships and experience
competition in a supportive and
fun environment. Girls not only
learn how to play the game of golf,
but they discover life lessons that
will help them face their future as
confident and empowered individuals. In a time when we are
all concerned about the decline
of our youth participating in the
game of golf, LPGA-USGA has
put together a program which will
help deal with the issue. If you

There are many things to celebrate in the month of February:
the Groundhog event, Abe and
George’s birthdays, Valentine’s
Day, the Portland Golf Show and
The Winter Olympics . . . just to
name a few! I’ve seen a few golfers braving the weather. Good for
you! Snow birds, hope you are
enjoying the mild temperatures
and golfing in the sun!
CWGA held its first board
meeting and there are lots of fun
events planned for this upcoming
golf year! Your new Board and
Standing Committees are readying the calendar and look forward
to an active year. Be sure to send
in your membership dues of $65
by April 1. The Board looks forward to a large membership and
participation in all the events
planned. The next CWGA Board
Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 at 9 am.
