The Charbonneau Villager CGC Report JIM gIBBons Winter Plans By now, like the golf course, most of us are settled into winter mode. For the golf course, that means staying busy, but in a different manner than with summer tasks. thanks to funds from last year’s together we Can Do It (twCDI) campaign, there will be additional repair work done to areas of the cart paths where tree roots have caused undulations resulting in a bumpy cart ride. Also, some conditioning to the course will be done to enable a better playing course this next summer. Besides needing to keep the course playable, our equipment also gets some repair at this time of year. so, our maintenance department will have plenty to do. TWCDI the support from so many in the Charbonneau community through twCDI the last two years really helped the course remain in fine condition and helped us to catch up some with delayed maintenance. Your donations have been very much appreciated. while the twCDI campaign has actively stopped soliciting monies, some of you continue to donate. Any additional donations are treated in the same method as past years, and expenditures are to be approved by the twCDI committee. the funds are so helpful since there has been a need to allow additional time for the work toward the possible merger of the golf Course with the Country Club. Again, your donations are still welcomed and so sincerely appreciated. 2014 Golf Passes this is also the time of year to think about Charbonneau 2014! that means golf passes are available now for next season. there are worthwhile discounts for those purchasing up to December 31, 2013. new this year - a few limited five-year and ten-year plans. otherwise the choice of plans is the same as last year. there are nine-hole and eighteen-hole options for all week or weekdays only. Couples get an additional discount. there are several other benefits. One popular benefit is the oregon trail sister Courses (otsC) program. the otsC regulations state that to play member courses, one must be paying dues to the course they represent. An annual pass is the only way to get that privilege. take advantage of the extra discount for those who purchase before January 1. Golf Shop Sale Do check out the golf pro shop for great merchandise and sales that will be featured for the winter. Use some of the credit you may have accumulated. However, the requirement to fully use all your credit balance comes about only every two years. You can continue to build up credit on your account until December 31 of next year (2014). that is when the balance reverts to zero. Volunteer Opportunities thanks to all those who volunteered this year. the golf Club is always looking for shareholders to join a committee and help move the course forward. there are possibilities to help with the following committees: Communityshareholder, Human resources, Finance, water Company, Marketing, planning, green and golf. It is a fine way to give back to the community. enjoy the holidays with family and friends. get some golf items for presents this season.
