Sweet 16 Ends Season the ending of the traditional golfing season, at least in Oregon, brings with it time for recognition and passing of responsibilities. the sweet 16 reserved the Fireside room at the Charbonneau Country Club for its Annual Awards Banquet. Dalton’s northwest Catering provided a fabulous prime rib and salmon dinner for the 38 attendees, including immediate and long-term members and spouses. Eva Parisi and Jeannie Brandstrom arranged the room décor, Bill Johnson shared a current verbal picture of the golf club and Tom Taylor crafted a video presentation from the over niter, with DvDs for every member. of course, the much-awaited highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Kallenberger Award, which was expanded in 2013 to include low net as well as low gross. Don Mason won the seven tournament low gross recognition with tom taylor taking the low net. All seven events were full, 15 of 16 members participated in the first ever two-night over niter, all 16 members qualified for the four competition in the Kallenberger and 75 percent of the members took on some form of voluntary leadership role that ensured a successful season. He then passed on the leadership role for 2014 to incoming commissioner, Julian Ceniga, who prepared for the role by actively participating in 2013. the core team Julian picked for managing the sweet 16 next year is tom taylor, assistant commissioner, who will partner with Don Mason on the over niter. It's time to rev the engines and get our calendars set for the next desert season. the date has been secured: Monday, March 3, 2014 at the shadow Mountain golf Club. they'll have an 8 am shotgun, with lunch to follow at the Club. It's a Four person (two couples) scramble format that costs $75 each or $150 per couple. lunch only is $25. If there are enough individual men signed up, we will create a tourney for them. otherwise, individuals can create their own bets and will be refunded $5 each. Money will be collected in advance this year, to both remove any doubt as to who is playing and to avoid the signup bottleneck at check in. Deadline for payment is February 1, 2014. please make checks payable to Robert J. The Giving Tree at Bruce and Katie are happy to be the host of a Christmas Giving Tree for local children of families in need.
