One entry per person only. elementary school notes Lakeland 4th grade students had a blast visiting downtown Memphis and learning some local history. They visited Schwabs, the Civil Rights Museum, the Indian Burial grounds, St. Jude Shrine, and had lunch at Martyr’s Park. Donelson fifth graders Beckham Deas and Kaiden Hendrix had a great time completing the marshmallow challenge. Students had 18 minutes to build the tallest freestanding structure they could using only string, tape, spaghetti noodles, and a marshmallow. Photos courtesy of DES Donelson kindergartner Lana Mokake puts the finishing touches on a homemade “nest” during a unit on Spring. Students discussed things that they saw, heard, and touched in spring. They explored how birds make their nests and wrote about their discoveries.
