As a transfer from Arlington High School last year, Alexis lettered in softball and bowling. She was named the “most improved” bowler on the team. She is ranked as Briarcrest’s top female bowler this year. She is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society and the National Honor Society at Briarcrest. She was voted Top Hitter in the Memphis area this year and has won numerous “top athlete” awards at regional collegiate softball camps over the past three years. Alexis plans on studying Finance and Business while attending college. She is the daughter of Katherine and Michael Bonanno of Lakeland.. Photo Courtesy of BHS Band Twenty-four Bolton High School Band students earned positions in the All-West TN Jr. High and Sr. High Bands, with eleven of these students earning placements in the TN All-State Bands and All-State Orchestra. Additionally, ten Band students are All-West TN Band alternates. The All-West TN Band Convention will be Feb. 12-14 and the TN All-State Music Educators Conference is scheduled for April 8-11. Both of these prestigious music education events will be held at the Cook Convention Center and the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis, TN. Bolton StageLight Theatre Presents Musical Comedy “Lucky Stiff,” March 5-10 Special to THE VIEW 38002 The Bolton StageLight Theatre is proud to present Ahrens and Flaherty’s Lucky Stiff. Harry Witherspoon, a mild-mannered shoe salesman, inherits six million dollars from his recently deceased Uncle Tony. Harry may obtain the money under one condition: he must escort his dead uncle to Monte Carlo for a week-long vacation. Otherwise, according to the will, the six million dollars will be donated to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn. Throughout the course of the trip, Harry finds himself constantly trying to protect his potential inheritance from other characters who are after the money as well. This fabulous show features an incredible cast, starring Dylan Ortiz as Harry Witherspoon and Olivia Halvorson as Annabel. The rest of the cast includes Hunter Beckham, Alexia Buckner, Bradey Coleman, Allyson Flowers, Janell Garrett, Donovan Hughes, DJ Maldonado, Jake McCall, Haley Paige, Robbie Ramirez, Jasmine Robertson, Destin Williams, and Skylar Winton. Lucky Stiff is coming to the Bolton StageLight Theatre March 5 – March 10. All shows begin at 7:00 except for the Sunday matinée, which begins at 2:00. All seats are $10. Monday, March 9 is student night, and all students ages 5-18 may purchase a ticket for only $5.00. Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved in advance by calling 901-873-8150 ext. 242. GIVING BACK Area Schools Recognized for Blood Donations Photo Courtesy of Lifeblood Representatives from Arlington, Bartlett and Bolton High Schools with their checks for $2,000 from Saint Francis Hospital- Bartlett. Each school donated over 100 units of blood during 2014, making them eligible for the grant. The schools met their goals through involving students, parents, teachers and facility at school blood drives as well as donating at donor centers.
