Page 10 38002.com theview theview February 2015 arlington high Visual Artists Receive Awards Arlington High School recently took home 60 awards from the Scholastic Art Contest which features the best artwork from the entire region. Four pieces received special awards along with 6 Gold Keys, 18 Silver Keys and 26 Honorable Mentions. Arlington was awarded more honors than any other municipal or private school. Artwork will go on display at Brooks Museum of Art and will hang from Jan. 31st to March 1st at Brooks. Award winners will be honored at an opening reception at Memphis College of Art on February 14th. The following will be honored at the reception: Hannah Wisdom-First Place, Senior Division, $500, Gold Key Hannah Wisdom, Painting Award, $250 Hannah Wisdom, American Visions Award Nominee $100 Malik Muhammed, Portfolio Gold Key (below, center) Gold Keys: Morgan Hull, Photography (top left) Korian Ivory, Photography (second from top) Emily James, Drawing (third from top) Hannah Wisdom, Painting (below, left) Emily James, Photography Hannah Wisdom, Painting FCCLA Students Give Back to Community Special to THE VIEW 38002 Arlington High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) created small lap blankets during a monthly club meeting and delivered them to the residents at The King’s Daughters & Sons Home in Bartlett, TN. The lap blankets created a great opportunity for the students to visit with the residents and spend some time giving back to the community. President of the FCCLA organization, Hannah Caldwell says “This was a very rewarding experience.
