MFC: As a young child, what were your family’s
holiday traditions?
Every year, my mother would take my older brothers and me to a local shop-
ping center to visit and donate through the "Giving Tree". The tree was always
decorated with paper ornaments and each ornament included the age of a
child and the type of toy they wished to receive. I can still remember how much
fun it was to shop for these children. I really felt as though we were all making
a difference for the children we donated to each year!
MFC: What are your family traditions now?
We had our first Christmas celebration last year, on the same day as Joey's
christening. We look forward to Christmas celebrations this year and thereaf-
ter! I enjoy decorating the Christmas tree with the ornaments that Joe and I
have collected over the years.
