Did I remember this today? No. Did I even realize this was that particular thing she was talking about? Heck no. But something must have clicked in my head because I responded with, "Oh, I'm not taking that survey."
She smiled and replied, "Then head down to the music room."
I looked down at myself, still in gym clothes. Then I looked
at my friend, also still in gym clothes.
"Can we change first?"
"Of course."
We both sprinted down the stairs and ran to the locker room to
grab our stuff from our gym lockers. By this time, it was… let’s just say we were very late. Grabbing our things, we dashed to the music room.
"Why did no one tell us?" My friend gasped, as we ran down the
hall and skidded across the corner.
"I don't know." I whispered as we entered the music room.
At the sight of us, everyone turned to look at the two girls
who had entered the classroom looking like they had just sprinted in a triathlon.
"Sorry," I mumbled as the teacher looked up at us.
"Did you not hear the announcements?" The teacher asked us
sternly, looking up from what she was reading.
"We didn't get to; there was a sub." My friend explained.
"Sign in on this list and sit down," she said, returning to her book.
We sat down next to another one of my friends.
"The one time you don't hear the morning announcements." I
grumbled.
My other friend laughed.
"You weren't the one who was running around the school looking
for people!" I exclaimed.
"At least you get to sit for a few minutes before first
period." She shrugged.
"You're right," I said. "All I want to do is sit and relax for
a while."
I rested my head on the back of my chair and was about to
close my eyes, when the teacher stood up.
"All right everyone, you are dismissed."
You've got to be kidding me.
