Even though it's barely a speck on the world map, Malta is not a place to be missed. Over 5,000 years of history lies in the small 122 square mile island (smaller than Rhode Island!), and with the list of things to do ranging from beaches to ancient temples, Malta really has it all.
The name "Malta" really encompasses the three Maltese Islands- Malta, Gozo and Comino. Each one has its own unique attractions- and each one is smaller than the next. All situated within a mile of each other, ferries take tourists between them, making it a wonderful day out.
The coastline of the Maltese islands is magnificent, and provides many opportunities for scuba diving in caves or around ships that were wrecked by the jagged rocks.
