to prevent a huge scene from occurring. Honestly, they were probably right.

Nonetheless, it did not take me long to realize the true motive for them bringing me in. My first clue should have been the handcuffs.

That was how I ended up here, in court, on trial for my life. I do not know how many times I tried to explain to the officers what happened. Despite my story, they took my being fired earlier that day as a reason for me to go mentally off the deep end. I heard them whispering. They would say things like, "Watch out, you never know what will set him off," or "Why has this guy not been on medication his whole life?"

As I stand up, all I can think about is that my life depends upon the next sentence out of this juror’s mouth.

I see the lead juror rise and hear them say, "After the house security tapes were discovered, showing the entire crime on camera, on the charge of second degree murder, we the jury find the defendant," there is a pause and I can feel my body go numb and the rush of blood pumping through my veins, "we find the defendant guilty."
