The slogan "Gotta catch 'em all!" has been around for many years, but have you ever wondered how the franchise known as Pokémon was established? The great man named Satoshi Tajiri had always been interested in catching creatures such as insects and tadpoles from a young age. When Mr. Satoshi met Shigeru Miyamoto, the idea of Pokémon was born. It started off as a game called "Capsule Monsters", but due to trademarking issues, the name was changed to "Pocket Monsters". When Pokémon was introduced in Japan, it was an overnight success. When Tajiri was introduced to the Game Boy, he decided to release a video game version of Pokémon. The first two versions were called Pokémon Green and Pokémon Red.

After its great success in Japan, Pokémon traveled across the sea. But, fearing that the uncultured Westerners wouldn't approve of the homely appearance of their monsters, Tajiri and his team tried to change the looks of his Pokémon. The idea was shot down, but an even better vision emerged. An anime version debuted on the seventh of September, 1998. The games came 23 days later, on the 30th of September, and children and adults alike began to become entranced in the Pokémon universe.

Pokémon's creators decided to make movies based on the world later in the year. Anime had become popular across the globe and Pokémon decided to debut Mew and Mewtwo
