A good core of crafters have developed their aptitude in design, decoration and finish to a level which the
Cape Craft and Design Institute called “export quality”. However, the challenge is to find a large enough
group of creative and committed young people who can produce enough pieces of high quality in a limited
time to meet the demands of the interior design and export markets. Being born optimists, we believe that
this goal will be achieved.
In the mean time, the Foundation has opened its own craft shop on the Bonnievale Main Road, and have
sourced three more crafting volunteers to teach new skills.
