Catholic Cemeteries – Come Learn at Our Open House
By Kathy Fanger & Laura Schemmel
Well done, good and faithful servant!
You have been faithful with a few things;
I will put you in charge of many things.
Come and share your master’s happiness!
Matthew 25:21
If you have been reading our recent
columns, you know that we have fo-
cused on end-of-life planning: Advance
Directives, Estate Planning, and Pre-
planning Funeral and Burial property
in a beautiful resting place. Our last
column addressed the importance of
preparing one’s soul for heaven and
one’s legacy for others.
Catholic Cemeteries encourages
making it intentional, without rushing,
giving it the thought and planning it requires
and deserves.
You are invited this Saturday…
On March 24, Catholic Cemeteries
is hosting an Open House at Gate of
Heaven and an Estate Planning Semi-
nar from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. You will learn
about preparing an Advance Health
Care Directive (AHCD) – a critical
legal document that every person over
18 should complete, have on file, and
discuss with loved ones, doctors and
clergy. It designates a person, or agent,
who will make sure that your wishes
are carried out. Without an AHCD, the
courts or others may have the power
over such decisions.
The Estate Planning portion will ad-
dress Property Management, the Revo-
cable Living Trust, charitable and legacy
planning, legacy gifts and planned giv-
ing. It is absolutely essential to have con-
versations with your appointed agents
and your loved ones about your end-of-
life preferences. Signed, witness copies
should be given to your doctors, agents
and family members and updated every
few years .
Final Expense Insurance makes
certain that those you love are protected
against financial hardship in case of
death, and is vitally important. A tradi-
tional final expense insurance policy is
used to pay for funeral expenses. Upon
your death, your beneficiary would be
responsible for using the available funds
from your final expense insurance to
pay for your funeral. Catholic Cemeter-
ies offers final expense insurance and
annuity products that help you protect
your priorities and can assist with long-
term care issues and funeral expenses,
so your loved ones don’t have to worry
about the financial burden associated
with end-of-life and death.
Catholic Cemeteries is here to assist
you in being a good steward of God’s
gifts to you. By learning this informa-
tion and having your plans in place, you
give the gift of peace of mind to yourself
and your loved ones. Let us help you
in protecting your loved ones and your
legacy. See the ad on page 24 for more
information, call us at (650) 428-3730 or
send an email to [email protected].
