McGrath Come, Join the Celebration Bishop Oscar Cantú will celebrate the 25 th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood with a Mass of Thanksgiving on Tuesday, May 21, 6:30 pm, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph, Market Street, San Jose. The celebration is open to everyone; NO ticket required. All that is asked is that you notify your parish pastor so can properly configure the seating chart within the Cathedral. A reception will follow. Unauthorized Fundraising Activities The Diocese of San Jose has received reports regarding unauthorized fundrais- ing activities of Father Mauricio Cuesta Pardo, founder of the Misioneros Marianos. Father Cuesta Pardo at various times purports to be from either Colombia, or the Diocese of Leon, Nicaragua. Father Cuesta Pardo does not possess the faculties to minister in the Diocese of San Jose. Likewise, the members of the Misioneros Marianos do not possess the faculties to minister in the Diocese of San Jose, and they are not welcome or to be welcomed within the territory of the Diocese. Leonard Bernstein’s Mass is a theatrical exploration of the affirmation of faith and devotion, and the forces in contemporary life that challenge that belief. Music inspired by Beethoven and Mahler sit side-by-side with rock, blues, pop and Broadway styles. Mass combines all the elements of human expression: song, dance, visual art, spoken word.
