Goals
UAP believes that it is through this role as an advocate that we are able to positively
impact the communities in which we live and work. We aim to make these impacts in
many ways:

Promote the value of architects and the architecture profession and demonstrate
how we can help solve the important issues of our time
Shape and improve the built environment around us, by forming and maintaining
strong relationships with allied professionals and stakeholders (i.e. manufacturers
and suppliers)
Educate the public in several areas such as sustainable design, historic preserva-
tion and others
To expand and strengthen relationships with local and national government
officials and agencies to position architects as strong advocates for the value of
design in solving larger community issues
Support architects in public service by regularly communicating with them about
issues of concern and developing resources they can use to effectively advocate
for the profession
Develop a platform for monitoring issues of professional interest and getting the
word out to our membership and the communities that we serve
