Joel T. Allison honored for 20
years of service and selflessness
On September 18, the Baylor Health Care System
Board of Trustees proudly passed a resolution
honoring Joel T. Allison for his 20 years of service.
The resolution renamed the Faith in Action
Initiatives Fund in honor of Joel, who is chief
executive officer of Baylor Scott & White Health.
The newly named Joel T. Allison Faith in Action Initiatives
Fund will support the Baylor Health Care System Office of
Mission and Ministry to provide resources and medical volunteers
to organizations in need, both locally and abroad. To date, Baylor’s
Faith in Action Initiatives program has benefited people in more
than 30 countries and 70 local free-access clinics. They provide
Joel T. Allison
numerous organizations with medical equipment and supplies
worth more than $1 million. Through donor support of the fund,
Baylor is also able to send a team of first responders when largescale disasters occur around the world.
“The Faith in Action Initiatives program was created by Joel.
“The Faith in Action
Initiatives program was
created by Joel. ...
I can’t think of a better
way to honor his two
decades of service to this
organization than by
renaming the fund in his
honor.”
– Jim Turner, Chair-elect, Baylor
Scott & White Health Board of
Trustees
It is just another example of his dedication to carrying out
Baylor’s mission as a Christian ministry of healing,” said Jim
Turner, chair-elect of the Baylor Scott & White Health Board
of Trustees. “I can’t think of a better way to honor his two
decades of service to this organization than by renaming the
fund in his honor.”
In addition to the fund’s renaming, the Joel T. Allison Faith
in Action Award was announced. The award will be given annually to a Baylor employee who, through his or her deeds, best
exemplifies the Baylor mission of serving all people through
exemplary health care, education, research and community
service.
