Retreat Season
Details
Purpose
The retreat season is from mid-August
to the end of May. The camp is open to
Christian organizations, churches and
individuals as a place to get away from
their everyday schedule and strengthen
their walk with Christ. We welcome
guests every day of the week.
Services
The following are the major services of
Camp Tejas that are provided for each
retreat group and managed by our staff.
Some of the services and activities are
optional. All of the services are provided
at no extra charge:
- Conference facilities and equipment.
Conference seating capacities vary from
20 to 500
- Sleeping facilities, including private
rooms, and bunk houses
- Linens and towels are provided in all
private rooms
- Complete dining and food services
Time for a
Change of Season

As with the myriad of color variations that are utilized in the décor of facilities here
at Camp Tejas, our Father God also gives us a vast variation of color in His creation. To
me, this is most vividly noted during autumn, at the beginning of retreat season, as
the foliage begins its slow transformation from the vibrant greens to shades of yellow,
orange, brown, and red. The air begins to cool at night to accentuate the change and
perhaps give us a desire to sit around a warm campfire and peer into the glowing
embers of burning wood, mesmerized by the colors within the fire. Even to sit on the
banks of one of the lakes here at the camp and see the fall colors and the reflections
of a deep blue sky in the water draws me to Him. Without a doubt, God is revealed in His
creation. As I experience and meditate on the variety of the seasons God gives us I am
often brought to tears of appreciative joy and praise for Him in knowing that He loves
me so much that He knows we need change of seasons and has provided that for us as
with everything in our lives. He has provided a place for you and me to experience this
by way of this camp and retreat center. I encourage those that come here to take the
time to walk away from the buildings and activities for just awhile and experience that
beautiful creation and ultimately experience a deeper appreciation for a loving Father
or perhaps meet Him for the first time. >>
