RETREAT SEASON A PLACE FOR DISCIPLESHIP By Paul Biles - Retreat Director E phesians 4:12-13 says, “to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Those verses de?ne discipleship and discipleship is the main focus of all the guests who come to Camp Tejas. Camp Tejas provides an opportunity to be removed from daily life and to focus on Him. This past year, more than 7,000 retreat guests have come through our gates to be refreshed in their zeal for Christ and then take it home and share with others. Ladies groups come and women have the opportunity to share and grow togeth- er without the daily distractions of family and work. Men have “Man Camp” where they bond by the camp ?re and learn to lead their families by Christ’s example. Children enjoy the recreational activities and are given the opportunity to hear about Christ’s love and His desire for them to commit their lives to Christ. These are a few examples of various types of retreat groups that come to Camp Tejas and how they are being discipled in an environment created to focus on God. Consider bringing your group out to Camp Tejas for a time to learn about Christ, grow spiritually, and build relationships. The retreat season is from mid-August to mid-May. For most of this time, the camp is open to Christian organizations, churches, and individuals as a place to get away from their everyday schedule and strengthen their walk with God. We welcome guests every day of the week. Reservations To reserve a spot on the calendar for your group, please call (979-366-2422) or email ([email protected]) us as soon as you can.
