The Moberly HS JROTC program has relaunched its Raider Team. The team currently comnsists of 15 cadets, led by Cadet Lieuntenant Samantha Kirkpatrick. The team has been working and training very hard since the beginning of school. For competitions the team sends a team of 9 cadets, so the team changes from competition to competition. So far the team has competed in one Raider Challenge event. On October 1st, 2016, the team headed down to Sedalia for the Smith-Cotton annual competition. There wre 25 teams from schools in Missouri, Kansa, Iowa, and Arkansas. The events start at 5:20 in the morning and are not complete until around 2 in the afternoon. Cadets compete in a PT test, construct a one-rope bringe an 10k road march and various other physical and mental challenges. Over the next couple of weeks, the JROTC Raider team will head over to Leavenworth, KS on 14-15 October and then down to Ft. Leonard Wood on 21-22 October. Each afternoon (Monday-Thursday) you can see the cadets out practicing, and pushing themselves very hard on running, setting up a one-rope bridge, tire flips, rope climb, knot tieing, map reading, push-ups, and sit-ups. All of the cadets have been putting their best effort forward at each practice and always strive to be on top of their game. I know that they will make Moberly proud. Spartans Strong.
