Barner Scholarship Recipients
Aubrey Chisholm and Myriah Treaster from Moberly High School have been awarded the Barner Scholarship. The Barner Scholarship was established in 2016 to honor Mike Barner, who retired as director of the Moberly Area Technical Center, and Brenda Barner, who retired as an English teacher at Moberly High School. Two scholarships will be awarded each year to pay for dual-credit tuition through Moberly Area Community College. The applicants for the scholarship wrote an essay and completed an interview process before the scholarships were awarded. “These scholarships are a great way to get a head start on college classes without facing the financial burden of college tuition,” said Christine Weis, Moberly High School English teacher. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be sent to Moberly Area Community College at 101 College Street, Moberly, MO 65270. Make checks payable to MACC c/o the Barner Scholarship.
