Update from the Minnesota-Dakotas District: Minnesota-Dakotas is staying strong as we enter the second half of the year. We have gained membership and awareness of the Kiwanis family all across the district. At least three Kiwanis clubs are interested in starting CKI clubs in their areas and we have found students to work with these clubs at two of the three locations. We might be small but we are growing larger! In Mid-October we had our Fall Leadership Training Conference. The Halloween Themed FLTC had over 50 members in attendance total which is higher than it has been in the past couple years. We helped out for a couple hours at Kiwanis Holiday Lights, had workshops to help members learn more about the organization, and ended Saturday night with a bonfire and member made haunted house. A great end to an amazing weekend. In the Dakota Stars at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology not only did 9 members go to FLTC, but we also had many help out with this year's Trick or Treat for Canned Goods, an event to help collect canned goods and donate them to Feeding South Dakota. We raised just under 1000 pounds of food this year!! In Rolling Plains a new club is on the horizons! Interes t at MSUM and with the local Kiwanis will hopefully have us with a new club by the end of the year. Also one of Rolling Plains clubs had the highest Service Hours of the Month!! Congratulations Concordia!! North Stars had a lot of fun things going on this past month with FLTC being hosted in Mankato and another possible new club at UofM Duluth. A couple clubs are helping out at Kiwanis Holiday Lights throughout this month and next to show our support. This is a great way to meet new Kiwanians and show them that Circle K is there to help in any way possible. Minnesota Dakotas District has done a lot in the past month and we are excited to keep the fun and fellowship up while we prepare for District Convention!
