Finally, THE PILLARS OF ART,
my most recent work: 10 paintings
measuring 25 x 100 cms. An explicit
ethical and aesthetic statement:
autonomy, authenticity, versatility,
abnegation, skill, rigor, industri-
ousness, profundity, poetry and
awareness.
The examples reveal MY PICTORIAL
LANGUAGE in its present form.
In my paintings
3 visual components
are generally interrelated:
- informal abstract backgrounds,
which constitute the space of the
painting, the fluid atmosphere of a
galactic or microscopic environment
which defies gravity, they represent
the intimate structure of matter,
express the unconscious, spontaneity;
to create these textures I use action
painting, often as a performance,
together with the French sculptress
and performance artist Astrid
Fremin;
- floating geometric objects,
suspended, as clear as rationality,
as isolated as the consciousness
which emerges in the ocean of the
unconscious;
- and written words, captions which
cross reference, which, through the
convention of verbal language,
mediate between the unusual world
of representation and the ordinary
one in which the observer moves.
