The Story of the Amitabha Stupa, Sedona Arizona 1 | Page 35

A Stupa Is Born With great rejoicing, the community gathered for the final step in the empowerment of the Amitabha Stupa— a three-day consecration ceremony, marked with abundant offerings, prayers, songs, dances and virtuous aspirations. On the third day—August 1, 2004—prayers began at 5 a.m. At first, the Stupa was bathed in moonlight and then, when the rising sun shone on the face of Amitabha Buddha, the stupa was officially born. Since that day, the Amitabha Stupa has been radiating blessings, day and night, with unceasing compassion.
