4 Monte Sano Mountain of Health, the name reflects the tradition, that dates back to
the late 1800s, of sending patients to the mountain to recover from diphtheria, tuberculous or just to experience mountain vistas, the mineral springs, or the fresh air. Today, it is a state park spreading over 2,000 acres filled with walking trails, wild animals, and wildflowers.
