YOUNG LAWYER
SHOWCASE
Spring is quickly approaching, maybe not quickly enough,
but nonetheless, the North Dakota Young Lawyers Section
(YLS) is continuing to develop programming that not only
supports young lawyers in the State, but also encourages
them to become involved in their local communities. In
order to accomplish these objectives, YLS continues to plan
several exciting events, including another year of “Feed
Your Community,” Wills for Heroes, various webinars, and
social events.
As most of you recall, last year YLS partnered with the
Great Plains Food Bank and hosted an extremely successful
state-wide food and fund drive. YLS is in the midst of
planning yet another, hopefully just as successful, statewide food and fund drive. This is a great way to get
involved with your local community and fight to end hunger
in North Dakota! Additional information on how to get
involved will be provided as this event nears.
Wills for Heroes is a program that provides essential
legal documents free of charge to first responders. YLS is
hoping to expand this program to include Veterans. The
documents provided include wills, living wills, and powers
of attorney. This event is still in the planning stages, but it is
tentatively scheduled to be held in the near future.
The YLS Education and Professionalism Committee is
busy planning several upcoming webinars. The first is
tenatively scheduled for February. Young lawyers, as well
as other licensed attorneys, are invited to participate in the
webinars. Please be on the lookout for information on the
upcoming webinars.
YLS will continue to host different social events, such as
luncheons or after work gatherings. The last luncheon
hosted by YLS was a huge success! We’d like to take this
opportunity to thank all of the YLS members that
participated in this event. Please be on the lookout
information on any upcoming social events.
