In addition to providing pro bono legal
services to clients, the lawyers of the Vogel
Law Firm generously donated $8,000 to the
North Dakota Bar Foundation’s Pro Bono
Fund. The State Bar Association of North
Dakota and the North Dakota Bar Foundation
expresses our appreciation to the lawyers
of the Vogel Law Firm for their leadership
in meeting our profession’s commitment to
access to justice. Not all of us can provide
direct pro bono legal services, but with the
support of the Pro Bono Fund, all of us can
support a commitment to access to justice.

serves Burleigh, Emmons,
Grant, McLean, Mercer,
Morton, Oliver, Sheridan
and Sioux counties.
Hill had been a trial attorney at the Bismarck firm of Zuger, Kirmis and Smith
since 1981. He is among few North Dakota attorneys who have served on the
American Bar Association’s Board of Governors, and in 2005, Hill received the
national American Inns of Court Professionalism Award.
In a January 30 ceremony, Susan Bailey was sworn in as a judge of the East
Central Judicial District at the Cass County courthouse. The East Central
District serves Cass, Steele and Trail counties.
Bailey, a West Fargo resident, was elected to the judgeship in the November
general election. She replaces Judge Wickham Corwin.
Most recently, Bailey served as an administrative law judge and a municipal
judge in the North Dakota communities of West Fargo, Horace, Tower City,
Kindred and Davenport.
