NORTH DAKOTA ATTORNEYS COLLECT MORE THAN 10,000 MEALS FOR GREAT PLAINS FOOD BANK The Young Lawyer Section (YLS) of the State Bar Association of North Dakota collected 10,548 meals for the Great Plains Food Bank during its YLS Feed Your Community food drive held March 31 to April 10. In total, the North Dakota attorneys collected 4,569 pounds of food, which equals 3,808 meals. Total monetary donations amounted to $1,685, equaling 6,740 meals. Every 1.2 pounds of food is equivalent to one meal and every $1 is four meals. Legal communities across the state competed to raise meals to support those in need. The YLS hosted the largest state-wide food and funds drive that has been held in the 33-year history of the Great Plains Food Bank. “Being able to give back by helping fight hunger is such a humbling experience. We are very pleased we were able to collect such a great amount of meals to give back to those in need in our state,” said Lindsay Harris, of Maring Williams Law Office, who along with Jack Zuger, of Smith Bakke, spearheaded the statewide food drive for the YLS.
