LYNN AAS HONORED AT 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF BATTLE OF THE BULGE As one of the official representatives from the United States to the 70th anniversary observance of the epic World War II Battle of the Bulge, Lynn Aas of Minot was greeted with thanks and gratitude by the people of Belgium. Aas, who turns 94 on June 4, is a retired lawyer and state legislator who spent most of his career as the administrator of Minot’s Medical Arts Clinic. A native of Benedict, located 40 miles south of Minot, Aas was a student at the University of North Dakota before entering the U.S. Army in March 1943. After the war he enrolled in the UND Law School and earned a bachelor of commerce and a juris doctor degree in 1949. He was a member of the North Dakota Legislature for four sessions, from 1967 through 1969, and 1987 through 1989. Accompanying him to Bastogne, Belgium, for 10 days beginning March 19 were his son and daughter-in-law Joe Aas and Nancy Morris, both lawyers in Fargo, and two other sons, Dave of Minot and Dan of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. “We felt very appreciated by the Belgian people for what American soldiers did.” World War II Veteran Lynn Aas of Minot He was invited to be an honored guest by the Belgium Re
