Where did you come from, and how did you get to the US?

“I come from Croatia and I came here with my organization ISE (International Student Exchange) same with Alex. Culture and better English.”

What was the first thing you’ve seen in America?

“I see like lots a farms and corn. I’ve been to America before but in New York and Orlando.”

What was the first cultural difference you’ve experienced in America?

“People are really nice and the way people don’t take off their shoes when they enter the house.”

What’s different about American High School than Croatian schools?

“First you have to take 3 languages- depending on the high school. Then you can’t choose your classes (exception of choosing a language). We also don’t have a lunch and we wait until we get home around 4 or 5 to eat.”

What is your favorite American word/slang you learned in America and not in English class?

“Bro and like Bruh.”

Do you use it a lot?

"Yes!"

So far, what is your favorite American experience?

“When we went Ed Sheeran concert and it was amazing.”

How many years of English did you take, and why did you want to come to America?

“So I taken English since I was 1st grade since I was 7. Our elementary and middle school are combined so we go to middle school for 8 years. I wanted to come here to experience new things.

Is there anything else you want to say?

“I like the experience so far. It’s really cool and different.”
