While more than half of citizens actively stay involved a whopping 70% say, “America needs change”.

he number of citizens that believe that serious change is needed outranks the actual number of citizens that will take action, but on Southeastern’s campus an Alumni Association has created an online domain to inform the local campus about what is going on inside the state capitol to keep its campus local in the loop. In an interview with Erin Cowser, the Executive Director of Public and Governmental Affairs for Southeastern University, she states why the Alumni Association started the website.

“The association started the Roar Network where students, faculty and staff, alumni, or anybody who wants to sign up. It’s an opportunity for the Alumni Association to share information about the legislative going-ons in Baton Rouge.” Cowser says its focus is, “to let them know what’s going on and if they feel compelled to reach out and contact their legislators there’s an opportunity for them to click right there. You can follow a bill, watch the headlines going on in a session, just for anyone who is interested.
