Match Report

Despite heavy rain and electricity cuts prior to the KO the Gibarltar Veterans XV verses The Royal Marines Invitation XV got away just after 3pm. After walking out and receiving the Governor, the match ball was presented to the officials and both teams got down to business. Despite some early pressure Gibraltar started to find the physicality of the Marines and their quality hard to deal with. By half time the Marines had run up a sizable lead against their hosts but as the spirit of the game dictates some of the ex International players changed sides and with some parity restored Gibraltar claimed their first try of the match.

Although finishing on the wrong side of a 75-5 result it was clear to see that everyone both on the Gibraltar side and Marines had thoughly enjoyed themselves. For the Gibraltar team many will remember this game for a long time to come whether it was passing to Paul Sampson, tackling Peter Rogers or just getting out of Andy Perry's way!

Well done lads!!
