The differences between this and our last Home fixture (Royal Marines) on 30th October could not have been more positive, the sun was shining, with no breeze, the repairs to the main stand have been completed and a sizeable crowd of over 600 fans came along to enjoy the event.

Our youngest players put on three exhibition matches evenly spread across the pitch, so that the arriving fans were able to see at first hand the numbers of young children involved, and the quality of their play.

Saturday 6th February saw another magnificent day of Rugby at the Victoria Stadium. The GRFU Committee keeps working hard to provide quality home fixtures for our many followers to enjoy, and the opponents this time were Jersey Rugby.

The Jersey Rugby professional team plays successfully in the RFU’s Greene King IPA Championship, alongside such legendary name as Cornish Pirates, London Welsh, London Scottish, Rotherham and Bristol. In fact, on Saturday, they played and beat another famous club, Moseley, by 22-18. Our visitors on Saturday were, like our own Select Team, amateurs drawn from the domestic 4 team league.

A few members of our fantastic youth section who played exhibition matches prior to the main event.
