Gibraltar Rugby, Sancus and XCM officially launched The Gibraltar Rugby Business Network at Grand Battery House on Monday 29th February with special guest, current Ireland and Leinster Rugby forward Seán O'Brien

The inaugural event was opened by Gibraltar Rugby’s President Mr Denis Lafferty and General Secretary Chad Thomson. The insightful Q&A session with Seán O’Brien provided some entertaining anecdotes about life as an elite professional rugby player and how the qualities of an effective leader are transferable between both sport and business.

Gibraltar Rugby’s Commercial Manager Mr Kim Chang outlined to the seventy guests in attendance that the Gibraltar Rugby Business Network (RBN) is the latest country to join the RBN family. The Rugby Business Network (RBN) is the world’s biggest and most influential network for leading business people with a passion for rugby and has over 25,000 members in 50 cities. The RBN is a not-for-profit organisation that connects business people who share a passion for rugby in the hope they can justify making a sustained commitment to the rugby community. Our members meet at events around the world and ask one another, “How can I help you?

The Gibraltar Rugby Business Network will be held every quarter with the upcoming events to coincide with the ‘Ride of Lions’ charity bike ride in June and the Royal Marines Rugby match in October of this year.

On Tuesday night, 1st March, Seán O’Brien came back to meet and sign autographs at the Land Rover Gibraltar Rugby Juniors training session at Devils Tower Camp. His attendance was very well received by the excited group of rugby’s players of the future.

Seán then held a coaching skills session for the senior National Team and Veterans squads who were in training for their Asia tour to Malaysia and Singapore. This was an invaluable session in which local players were able to learn from one of the world’s best players who has competed at the highest levels, including 2015 Rugby World Cup and Six Nations Championships.
