Gibraltar Veterans 5: Costa Barbarians 15

In another tough game for the Gibraltar Veterans they took on the best of the AndalucĂa Veterans in a match between friends. For once, Gibraltar started strongly, executing their game plan of carrying the ball in the forwards and then using their fast and skillful backs to find gaps in the Barbarians defence. However, after several attacks, no holes had been found and so they resorted to plan B, forwards driving the ball towards the line. Slightly taken aback by the change in tactics, the Barbarians were slow to react allowing the forwards to push number 9, Jonathan Howard over for the opening try.

For the next 10 minutes the Gibraltar forwards continued this style of play, but the strong and capable Barbarians had now adapted and were more than willing to defend. Several times Gibraltar got close to the try line but epic defence, great speed of thought and wise old shoulders held out Gibraltar. At the end of the first 20: It was Gibraltar 5: Costa Barbarians 0.
