Update from Kim
I am really enjoying my time in Gib. I have been coaching in the middle schools and Bayside so far.
The teachers have been great, really supportive! and the kids seem to really enjoy rugby.
In the middle school I have been working on tag rugby, making sure the games are inclusive for all, active and fun.
The children are learning passing and catching skills, tagging games and small sided tag games.
At Bayside I have been introducing contact to
years 8 and 9, starting with games of tag rugby and handling skills, then week by week introducing contact skills starting with the basics of the tackle.
The boys have really taken to rugby and I have seen some extremely talented athletes so far which is very encouraging to see.
Coaching at Westside began on the 13th January and already the girls seem to be enjoying it and again I have seen some more talented young athletes.
