'When approached by Robert Penfold to create a new club logo for Gibraltar Veterans RFC, as a rugby player myself, it immediately piqued my interest.

My initial approach for the design focused on combining iconic representational elements and imagery associated with Gibraltar, to convey a sense of national pride with the territory and flag, with a light hearted edge in order to keep with the social spirit of the rugby team.

The evolution of the idea revolved around a digital sketch of a semi-sinister looking monkey as the focal point, featuring the rock of Gibraltar in the background, with a colour combination and piece of insignia taken directly from the flag of Gibraltar. The monkey then became three to give it more of a team ethos (like that of the front of the pack/scrum), with slight tweaks to the colours of the sky and rock. The team name itself then became encapsulated within a white rugby ball shape in the centre of the logo, all encompassed within the circular crested outline.'

The Vets Logo - From Design to Reality

My professional career in art has spanned almost seven years,

with work represented by a brace of galleries based in London

and South Wales, being exhibited and selling internationally.

My career in sports betting has spanned four years, and covered

positions from data entry through to supervising in-play trading.

During three years of studying Fine Art in East London, I took

to some extra curricular learning, self teaching web and digital

design as a form of marketing. This passion has raged on ever

since, and I'm an avid user of the Adobe Creative Suite as a

means of creating my own projects and projects for others,

in which I have made sales and designed logos for a few

organisations.

Curiosity has led me further into researching and experimenting with other creative digital based software, and I'm always looking for new trends and cutting edge technology.
