Sovereign Insurance Scorpions - Season Round Up

Whilst the 2014/15 Season may not have started too well for the Senior Team, through perseverance and hard work by all, as well as some of the new players getting further experience playing in the Andalucian 2nd Division for the Gibraltar Barbarians, and also with the incorporation of a few latecomers from the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, they were able to turn their loosing streak around in 2015, going unbeaten into the Gibraltar Cup Final against the In Line Framing Sharks, which they won

comfortably 55-5 to take home the coveted Gibraltar Cup of 2015.

Mini Scorpions

With 11 wins, 1 draw and no defeats it would seem to have been a comfortable season for the Mini Scorpions, but it wasn’t. With three players moving up an age-group and only two players with experience from previous years, the defending champions had a lot on their plate. Some very tight games at the beginning of the season, especially against the Stormers, kept the Scorpions focused. Great progress made by Abi Greenberg and Joshua Lee gave playmakers Iona Sacarello and Harvey Leroy more options to finally secure a second consecutive title.

Well done to the 2015 Dolphin Adventure Mini’s Super IV League Winners: Iona Sacarello, Harvey Leroy, Abi Greenberg, Joshua Lee, Sam Redman, Nicholas Cox, Shay Duarte, and Harry Lee.

The Sovereign Rock Scorpions Management Team would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the players and family members for their hard work and commitment throughout the season, with special mention to Senior team Player/Coach Nick Rammage who led by example, newcomer Thomas Townsend who put us on the winning track, and Club Captain Matthew Guerrero who will be hanging up his boots at the end of the season to take up a more honorary position on the Scorpions committe board (in the broom cupboard, probably).

Well Done to all, and we look forward to another successfull Season in 2015/16!!
