The Scrummary - June 2015 | Page 49

Of special note was our participation in a mini tournament in Marbella with a visiting school from the UK, Malaga and Marbella, where we had such a high level of commitment that we were able to put out two full teams on the day. This all bodes well for the coming season where we intend on putting this group through its paces by taking part in as many "concentraciones" in Spain as possible (there is no formal league at this age group),

Lastly but by no means least our Eagles (under. 14s) have had a difficult year as mentioned above. However like a Phoenix rising from the flames, with Chad and Derrens continual persistence and with a hardcore of dedicated players, numbers have gone up again and this has led to us playing a number of friendlies against out side opposition. With a core of players already in place plus a number of the Falcons moving up to the Eagles we will once again be taking an u14 team into the Spanish league.

The summer will not be time off for the minis section with various sessions in the planning so please keep an eye out in the Facebook pages for details and bring a friend.

Our plans for next year are big and bold. However as always these will only succeed with the commitment of all stakeholders involved. That goes for players, coaches, parents and the GRFU. So to all those out there players, coaches, parents lets get involved bring some friends and make next season the best yet.

The Falcons have had a strange season at times. Numbers at training have fluctuated but they have had the opportunity to play a number of matches against outside opposition and though results weren't always in our favour there have been a heap of positives to take from these events.
