Our under 14’s represent the bridge between the increasingly successful Mini’s programme and the Academy.

Unfortunately, this year saw the loss of some players to the next age group as well as to other clubs, which meant our numbers prevented us from entering a team in the Andalucian league, as we did for the first time the previous season.

Nevertheless, the Academy coaches have spent a lot of time and energy during the season building our numbers and skills through our regular Tuesday and Sunday sessions.

This culminated in the Spring by way of two friendly fixtures and triangular mini-tournament against sides from Marbella and the Estrecho clubs.

Testimony to our recruitment is that during our first friendly with the Estrecho club in Guadiaro, 9 out of the 13 players for Gibraltar were playing their first organised game of Rugby. Our new boys fared very well in these games, even crossing the try line in our first game.

Playing these friendly games also enabled them to understand what a fantastic experience Rugby offers, not just in terms of playing the game and representing Gibraltar, but the fun that travelling to play Rugby in Spain can bring. Some boys enjoy the road trips with their mates and the “third half” just as much as the Rugby!

The Mini’ s programme is starting to bear fruit with the Academy starting to receive the first wave of graduates from the Under 12’s group for next season. However, not all of our players are sourced from the Mini’s programme; we are seeking boys and girls of any ability to come down and try the game at our sessions.

Our training group is growing and with a further intake from the Mini’s and additional recruitment over the Summer, we are entering our Under 14’s next year once again into the Andalucian league.

Following a break in June we will be holding training sessions open to all on Tuesdays at Pitch 2, Victoria Stadium between 6-8pm through out the Summer. We will be joined by Gibraltar national team players and coaches meaning the level of coaching available to our young players is unrivalled in the region.

Everyone is welcome to come down and try. That includes boys and girls of all abilities and experience; it really doesn't matter if you have played before.

You could be wearing the red shirt of Gibraltar for next season; - come down with your boots and our coaches will do the rest.
