HMS DARING v SUPER IV'S (COMBINED)

A combination of players from the four Super IVs Clubs played against HMS Daring on Wednesday 7th September at Devils Tower Camp under very hot conditions.

The game was played across 3 x 15 min thirds with Navy scoring first at the completion of the first third. The start of the second period saw Navy retain most of the possession, culminating in a great run down the wing from the navy into the Super IVs (combined) half.

After a gallant effort by the Super IV's (combined) team to defend their try line and sustained pressure by Navy, a try was inevitable.

The Super IVs (combined) hit back with some strong forward play, resulting

in a score in the corner just before the end of second period.

In the third period Navy scored again after a few handling errors from

the Super IVs (combination). This period also saw some fantastic footwork from centre Matthew Isola taking on the fullback one on one to score.

This was the first game of the pre-season for all Super IVs players so a few handling errors were expected as they prepare to battle it out to be crowned champions of the John Smith's Super IV league .

Final score 3 tries to 2
