with jazz music in India, are probably well aware of
Teamwork Art’s extravaganza that is the Jazz India
Circuit. This annual International festival brings together
the very ground zero of jazz talent in the country, right from
budding musicians to global legends. Staying true to the very
ideology that makes this genre, this circuit amalgamates pop,
punk, funk, hip hop R&B and then likes, with the roots that
bind them all.
The Philosophy
Jazz has always been about freedom, pushing boundaries
and deconstructing traditional techniques to produce
contemporary interpretations that redefine the future of
music. The Jazz India Circuit (JIC) is like a modern-day
speakeasy, giving music-lovers and jazz aficionados the
freedom to dream and live their music the way they want to.
The circuit is also a fantastic platform for both young talent
from India and world-renowned legends with scintillating
performances strewn across the past decade.

To whet your appetite for what’s to come, here’s a glimpse
into some of the most impactful artists lined-up for the JIC
International Festival Goa on December 1st and 2nd, 2018.
Jerome Klein
Having graduated from the Luxembourg Conservatory in
classical piano and percussion, Jerome has had a strong
impact on the world of textures and improvisation in jazz. His
choice of expression in primarily the drums, vibraphone and
piano. He has played with stalwarts such as Benny Golson,
Herb Geller and John Ruocco. Having recently won the
“Belgian Grammy”, les Octaves de la Musique, he has since
been working on his new project, described as an array of
contrasts in a minimalist setting, slipping into a misty mood
of melancholy and dark tones. In this almost pure setting,
his music surprises with loud splinters of light, explosion of
energy and even frenetic ecstasy when the musicians let their
passion take over. Although he has given many hints, Jerome
will keep the surprise for his live performance. You can check

Lester Godinho
From the heart of Goa itself, Lester’s drumming prowess
and musicianship have left a mark on India’s music scene.
Almost religiously grounded in the traditional performing
