hen word spread that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian
Peterson was looking to host a wing-eating contest, Buffalo
Wild Wings® in Mankato, Minnesota, was the perfect partner.
The Two Joe’s Inc. store learned Peterson was looking to
host the competition during Verizon Vikings Training Camp to
benefit Peterson’s All Day Athletic Association (ADAA), which
works with at-risk youth through a focus on football, track,
volleyball and basketball. The ADAA works with the children to
build interest, understanding and appreciation for sportsmanship and family involvement, while holding members to high
academic standards.
“We were thrilled when we heard of the opportunity to
partner with Adrian Peterson and fellow Minnesota Vikings to
help raise funds for youth athletics,” said Two Joe’s Inc. franchisee Joe Frederick Sr.
After contacting a representative, BWW began discussing
details immediately and started planning for a successful event.
Two Joe’s Marketing Manager Jen Epper put in the extra effort to
make sure the Aug. 6 event went off without a hitch and provided
guests with the ultimate experience.
BWW reached out to many of its community partners to
help with the event and received a great response. Marketing
efforts were targeted at radio, social media and in posters and
banners hanging in the restaurant. Due to the short time frame to
advertise, Two Joe’s put money behind Facebook ads and relied
on word-of-mouth at training camp.
For the afternoon event, the restaurant closed the back
parking lot and brought in a tent, seating, bathroom facilities,
outside food and beer stands, games, music, a DJ and more. By
making a contribution, guests were able to enter for a chance to
compete in the wing-eating contest, get autographs and join the
jersey raffle. All funds raised went to the ADAA, and Buffalo Wild

“Those guests who had the chance to compete against the
Vikings will have an experience they won’t forget. We plan on
partnering with them again during the 2017 Vikings Training
Camp and raising even more funds for youth athletics and the All
Day Athletic Association,” Epper said.
The opportunity to partner with NFL players and provide
guests with a one-of-a-kind experience produced impressive
results.
“We put on an amazing event for our guests in a short time
and raised close to $20,000 for the All Day Athletic Association,”
franchisee Joe Frederick Jr. said. S
