Mallet began her involvement with the organization 15
years ago. She chose
this organization firstly
because of its mission to
end hunger, secondly,
because it has a philosophy of allowing its
volunteers and board
members to contribute
more than financially.
“My strengths are much
more on the strategy side
than fundraising,”admits
Mallet.“I have been
able to utilize those
strengths.”
Since joining the
Share Our Strength
organization, Mallet
has served on the
board of directors as well
as the finance and development committees. In addition to
her personal contributions, Mallet’s two Buffalo Wild Wings®
locations participate in the annual Share Our Strength Dine
Out event, which encourages guests to contribute to the cause
during a week in September. One of Mallet’s greatest hopes is
that more restaurants will participate in the Dine Out fundraiser in the future.

Seth de Kanter, chief operating
officer and owner of TD Gulfstream
Partners, LLC, believes that philanthropy is best served by providing
help to the local community and its
children. So, de Kanter and TD Gulfstream support three charities that
positively impact the lives of children:
Autism Speaks, Children’s
Resource Fund and the Miami
Children’s Hospital (MCH).
TD Gulfstream’s support of
Autism Speaks and Children’s
Resource Fund grew from internal
inspiration: a little boy with Autism by
the name of Brayden Allen. Brayden’s
father, Corey, has been a general
manager with the company for six years. Thanks to their
relationship with Brayden, TD Gulfstream began supporting
Autism Speaks five years ago due to the amazing strides the
organization is making in support of Autism awareness. TD
Gulfstream has hosted four charity golf tournaments and
donated more than $35,000 to the organization in the past four
years. They have also been involved with the annual Walk Now
for Autism Speaks, with groups as large as 50 participants.
“For all the events we support, countless hours are put in
to planning, attracting vendors to help support, staffing and so
much more. Our staff has embraced these campaigns, which we
attribute to the success of our efforts. Due to the importance of
these causes, we, as a company, have matched many of the gifts
helping to increase the impact,” said de Kanter.
Members of TD Gulfstream’s Team Brayden gather to walk
together in support of Autism awareness.
This year, TD Gulfstream wanted to work closely with a
local group so they expanded their support to include Children’s Resource Fund, a Miami-area school that provides
educational and therapeutic programs and services that
enhance the learning potential and life skills of all children,
including those who have a special need and to also provide
support to their families. They made Children’s Resource Fund
the focus of their last golf tournament and donated $9,000 to
the organization.
TD Gulfstream also aids the local Miami Children’s
Hospital (MCH) through fundraising efforts. Miami Children’s Hospital has been working with children since 1950 and
has become a premier hospital in the southeast for pediatric
services.“So many lives have been touched by MCH that we
felt it our responsibility to support their efforts,” de Kanter
explained. TD Gulfstream has hosted in-store campaigns for
MCH over the past two years, and with the support of their
customers, has raised more than $7,000 for the hospital.
“At the end of the day, if our efforts help make a difference
for those affected by either Autism or for a child who needs
exceptional medical help, we just hope our contribution makes
access or assistance more readily available,”said de Kanter.
