Community Day a Huge Success B 2014 Issue 2 | the SCORE 8 uffalo Wild Wings® restaurants across the country raised nearly $370,000 during the Community Day event April 9, 2014 to support their local Boys & Girls Clubs as part of the Team Up for Kids™ initiative. Six hundred participating restaurants donated 10 percent of their total restaurant sales to a Club in their community. Of those 600 restaurants, 150 were franchised locations. The event was a success in every aspect. There was heavy traffic that day at company-owned restaurants and many first-time connections were made between Clubs and restaurants. However, there is an opportunity for greater participation from franchised locations for next year’s event. The restaurants hosted a variety of fun activities to encourage guest participation such as raffle drawings for prizes, a rubber duck derby, and neighborhood safety presentations. Local Boys & Girls Clubs participated at many restaurants with information booths and, at some locations, Boys & Girls Club cheer squads performed routines. “Through Community Day, we were able to support local Clubs in hundreds of communities where we do business. This local support is a valuable complement to our national ALL STARS program with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), and it helped our restaurants connect with their local Clubs and build a foundation for additional support in the future,”said Mary Twinem, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Buffalo Wild Wings®.
