high sugar intake and the prevalence of depression and anxiety. That is because foods rich in sugar
disrupt our brain?s neurotransmitters that stabilize our moods. If we are continually disrupting the
function of these receptors, we no longer have the natural control over our moods as we usually do.
For example, remember how it feels when you have a sugar crash? You are irritable, your mood
decreases, you get brain fog and fatigue. Imagine feeling this way every day? St udies conf irm t his
chronic sugar crash cont ribut es t o chronic anxiet y and depression.
Also, a recent study on sugar consumption suggested that massive insulin secretion caused by
higher use of sugar is positively correlated with a higher level of hyperactivity and attention
deficiency like ADHD, and lower emotional intelligence. And research also has shown that teens that
consume high amounts of sugar are more likely to behave violently towards others, and more likely
carry a weapon.
To make matters worse, sugar is t he second most addict ing
subst ance t hat exist s ? in f act , research t el l s us t hat it is more
addict ing t han cocaine. This is due to when you eat a lot of sugar,
a massive amount of dopamine ? a neurotransmitter responsible
for controlling the reward and pleasure responses of the brain ? is
released in your brain. As you continue to consume sugar, the
dopamine receptors become less powerful, making the response
less effective. Then more sugar is needed to create that same
euphoric, dopamine reaction. This continues into a vicious cycle,
like what happens with drug addictions. The fact is that t he brains of peopl e wit h ?f ood addict ion?

As you can see sugar can harm our bodies in many ways. However, not all sugars are created equal.
Some are much worse for us than others. For example:
Sugar al t ernat ives
- Aspart ame. This chemical sweetener is best known for its appearance in diet sodas. Aspartame has
been proved dangerous. For instance, the University of Liverpool conducted a study where
aspartame was mixed with typical food coloring. The result was evident toxicity to brain cells.
Additionally, researchers found that when aspartame breaks down, it creates formaldehyde, a
well-known carcinogen (cancer producing).
- Sucral ose. Commonly known as the brand name Splenda, is processed using chlorine. Researchers
are also finding that the waste of those consuming this ?sugar? can?t be broken down in wastewater
treatment centers.
- High Fruct ose Corn Syrup. This sweetener plays a considerable role in the fat build up in the liver,
leptin resistance, and significant weight gain. A study even
found that high fructose corn syrup is sometimes laced with Consume ONLY 25 Gr ams of

developmental disorders like autism. Unfortunately, it is an
ingredient found in almost everything, so keep an eye out
for it.
The good news is that there are some safer sugar
