OLD ST. AUGUSTINE, NEW FRIENDS
REPORTER: Maritza De Armas
From October 10-12 of 2014, our Champagnat
students had the opportunity to visit the old city of
St. Augustine for the annual Champagnat Trip. The
objective of this trip was for students to witness
the architecture of the city. “We saw many Spanish
buildings in the city. It’s very beautiful and vintage.”
said freshman Nicole Martinez. The students also
had the opportunity to learn the history of St.
Augustine. “I learned that after settling in St.
Augustine, the Spaniards had adapted to the
English language rather quickly,” said freshman
Matthew Morales. The students who attend the trip
also get to meet new people and make new friends,
as well as becoming well-acquainted with our
beloved principal, Dr. Jose Rodelgo-Bueno. All in
all, the Champagnat trip is the perfect opportunity
to simultaneously travel and learn, while having a
blast and becoming closer to fellow Champagnat
students.
