INVESTIGATION

The investigation will be led by UEAEC ( Unidad Administrativa Especial de Aeronáutica Civil ). Evidence of jet fuel was not found at the crash site . The plane ’ s last recorded speed was 142 knots ( 165mph ) and altitude of 15,000 feet . Also , other crews that were approaching the Mendelin airport said that the pilot shouted over the radio that they were running out of fuel and needed the airport for an emergency landing . That would explain the circle path of the aircraft .

MY PERSONAL VIEW

I think there is clear evidence that plane ran out of fuel and then began to descend because of the lack of thrust resulting in loss of lift . The aircraft therefore , could not climb to a safe altitude that would guarantee a safe distance above the high terrain . The impact must have been hard because the wings were found behind the tail whereas normally the wings would be in front of the tail . The plane most likely stalled and then crashed .
